DIRECTOR OF LOCAL HOUSING AUTHORITY FACES ONE YEAR IN PRISON

The executive director of the Ocean City Housing Authority could face one year in prison for using authority funds to purchase gift cards for her family.  54 year old Alesia Watson of Galloway Township allegedly bought 69 MasterCard gift cards for personal use.  She pleaded guilty to a count of embezzlement. ##

Two local communities will be holding elections on Tuesday.  Avalon has a contested election for three seats on Borough Council, while Sea Isle City’s election is uncontested.  Polls will be open from 6am until 8pm. ##

LETTER CARRIERS TO COLLECT FOOD FOR NEEDY FAMILIES SATURDAY

Postal carriers will be collecting food for local families in need this Saturday.  Postal workers in Ocean City are asking families to put non perishable food items at their mailboxes Saturday to be donated to the Ocean City Ecumenical Council Community Food Cupboard. ##

LOCAL LANDSCAPER ALLEGEDLY PROVIDES DRUGS TO UNDERAGE TEEN
