NORTH WILDWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES ACCREDITATION

A major honor for the North Wildwood Police Department as it has been accredited by a state program.  A recognition ceremony was held Tuesday in the city to honor the police department for achieving the three year accreditation.  Annual reports are required to keep the compliance in good standing. ##

WILDWOOD CROWNS NEW MARBLES CHAMPIONS

Wildwood crowned two new marbles national champions on Thursday.  12 year old Sierra Ricci and 14 year old Eli Murphy of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania were named the king and queen of marbles on Thursday.  The national title is held annually at Wildwood’s Ringer Stadium. ##

MILLVILLE TEEN CHARGED WITH BREAKING JAW OF ANOTHER TEEN

Millville Police say a 14 year old juvenile is charged with aggravated assault after he broke the jaw of another teen with a punch.  Authorities say the victim is recovering from his injuries after being hospitalized in Delaware.  The victim’s mother made a post on social media detailing the crime. ##

TOWNSEND’S INLET BRIDGE TO RE-OPEN FRIDAY AFTERNOON

Townsend’s Inlet Bridge will re-open Friday afternoon. According to a County notice posted on the Borough of Avalon’s website, the bridge will re-open to vehicular traffic sometime Friday afternoon. The bridge has been shut down for many weeks after undermining of the bridge was discovered by the County during a scheduled underwater inspection. ##
