BRIDGETON POLICE INVESTIGATE WEEKEND SHOOTING

Bridgeton Police continue their investigation into a shooting over the weekend at a party.  Police say a vehicle was struck by gunfire during a party at the Bridgeton Villas Apartment complex Saturday night; no arrests have been made. ##

FOUR BUSTED IN CONNECTION WITH FIGHT IN MILLVILLE

Four people have been arrested in Millville, charged in connection with a fight involving a woman last week.  Authorities watched a film of the attack on a woman and charged four people with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. ##

LAWMAKERS LINE UP TO OPPOSE OFFSHORE DRILLING

Lawmakers from around the state are lining up to oppose President Trump’s plan to allow offshore drilling for fuel.  Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Bookers were joined by other lawmakers Monday to begin the fight again against offshore drilling, saying it threatens the state’s economy and environment. ##

CHRISTIE VETOES BILL TO HELP CORRECTIONS OFFICERS

Governor Christie has vetoed a bill that would have provided full benefits to corrections officers who are injured in the line of duty at state prisons.  Christie vetoed the bill on Monday, saying the bill was not “fiscally responsible”.  The measure would have created the same benefits as those enjoyed by police officers. ##
