OCEAN CITY TO GUARD TEN LOCAL BEACHES DURING HOLIDAY WEEKEND

The Ocean City Beach Patrol will have ten guarded beaches during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.  City officials announced that ten beaches will be manned with lifeguards and the public is advised to only swim in the presence of a lifeguard.  Rowing clinics for rookie guards are forthcoming. ##

DEVELOPING STORY: MIDDLE TWP. POLICE SEARCHING FOR RUNAWAY BOY

Middle Township Police are searching for 17 year old Robert Stone Jr. who ran away from the Oasis Youth Shelter on Sunday.  Stone was last seen wearing glasses gray colored pants, and carrying a black book bag.  If you have information to Stone’s whereabouts, contact Middle Township Police. ##

RAIN HEAVY, FLOOD GATES OPENED AT LAKE LENAPE IN ATLANTIC CO.

Hamilton Township opened the flood gates at Lake Lenape Monday afternoon thanks to three and a half inches of rainfall.  The level of the lake was expected to drop Monday night but the river is expected to rise quickly once waters reach the Mays Landing area.  Homeowners were asked to secure their properties. ##

WOODBINE GETTING NJDEP FUNDING FOR REMEDIATION AT LOCAL AIRPORT

Woodbine has secured nearly $130,000 in state funding for a site remedial investigation at the Woodbine Municipal Airport.  Mayor William Pikolycky announced that historical military and commercial uses created areas of concern to be investigated in the proposed studies. ##
