TRAFFIC: PORTION OF ROUTE 40 CLOSED WEDNESDAY MORNING

A portion of Route 40 in Hamilton Township has been closed due to a fallen utility pole and wires that are crossing the roadway this morning.  Crews say the pole came down at mile post 39.  Utility companies were contacted this morning, but no word yet on when the highway will reopen.

BREAKING NEWS: FORMER NFL PLAYER AARON HERNANDEZ KILLS HIMSELF

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez killed himself Wednesday morning.  Hernandez was found hanging by a bed sheet inside his cell at a correctional facility where he was serving a life sentence for murder. ##

GUADAGNO TO UNVEIL NEW TAX PLAN WEDNESDAY MORNING

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kim Guadagno will unveil her new tax plan for New Jersey residents on Wednesday.  Guadagno’s new plan would cut New Jersey’s property taxes by $3,000 for property owners who pay more than five percent of their income on school taxes. ##

REPORT: SEA ISLE CHAMBER PRESIDENT SUING CITY, MAYOR DESIDERIO

The president of the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce is suing Mayor Len Desiderio and the city for $1 million.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that Christopher Glancey is suing the city because he says it intentionally delayed the permitting process for a new restaurant and apartment complex in Townsend’s Inlet.  Glancey alleges [...]
