REPORT: UPPER TOWNSHIP CHANGES PLANS, TWO BOAT RAMPS TO BE FREE

Upper Township officials have decided to keep two boat ramps in Strathmere free of charge.  The Upper Township Gazette reports that there will be no fees charged at a new boat ramp on Bayview Drive, or at an existing boat ramp at Taylor Avenue.  Officials do not believe there is adequate room to staff attendants. BOMB THREATS IN ATLANTIC CITY, NOTHING FOUND

Atlantic City Police responded to two separate bomb threats on Monday morning.  One threat was against a court house, the other, an apartment complex.  No explosives were found, and one suspect was arrested. ##

FORMER AC COUNCILMAN SENTENCED TO SIX MONTHS IN PRISON

It’s six months in prison for former Atlantic City Councilman John Schultz.  He received the prison term on Monday in a federal court for his role in a scheme to avoid paying over $100,000 in taxes to the IRS.  Schultz is 74 years old and took responsibility for the crime. ##

ROUTE 50 BRIDGE TO BE CLOSED TUESDAY MORNING

The Route 50 bridge in Tuckahoe will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic starting early Tuesday morning.  State officials announced that the bridge will remain closed to traffic in both directions until Friday morning, at around 6:00am.  Motorists must follow detours set up for truck traffic. ##
