REPORT: FORMER REVEL WILL NOT OPEN THIS MONTH

The former Revel Casino in Atlantic City will not be re-opening this month.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that owner Glenn Straub confirmed that the casino will not open by his self imposed June 15th deadline.  Straub also says the property is for sale, at the right price. ##

ATLANTIC CITY TO HOLD RIBBON CUTTING ON NEW BOARDWALK

Atlantic City officials will hold a ribbon cutting event Thursday morning on a brand new section of the boardwalk.  The boardwalk has been reconstructed from Rhode Island Avenue to Oriental Avenue.  The city received a $5 million grant to help do the work. ##

SUSPECT INDICTED IN CONNECTION WITH ATLANTIC CITY MURDER

43 year old Joseph McCoy has been indicted by a grand jury on charges that he murdered 23 year old Jacqueline Hoyle in Atlantic City in December.  McCoy was been indicted on four counts, including one for murder.  He could face at least 30 years in prison on the murder charge alone. ##

ATLANTIC CITY DEMOCRATS SELECT FRANK GILLIAM FOR MAYOR

Atlantic City democrats have selected Councilman Frank Gilliam to be their mayoral candidate in November.  Gilliam turned back a challenge from fellow Councilman Marty Small.  Mail in ballots appeared to be the difference maker in this primary election. ##
