MIDDLE TOWNSHIP TO DISCUSS RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AT PUBLIC MEETING

Middle Township will hold a public meeting on June 20th at the Rio Grande Fire Hall to discuss future recreational opportunities in the municipality.  Opportunities that may exist in Rio Grande and the status of the Ockie Wisting Complex will be discussed at the meeting which starts at 6pm. ##

COUNTY RETAINS GRANT FOR CANCER EDUCATION AND EARLY DETECTION

Cape May County has retained an important grant that provides cancer screenings for county residents.  Freeholder Jeff Pierson announced today that the state grant provides free screenings for residents who are uninsured; the County has received the grant since 1996. ##

CHRISTIE STILL HOLDS OUT HOPE FOR SPORTS BETTING IN NJ

Governor Christie predicts that sports betting may be in place in New Jersey in about a year.  Christie says if the State gets a favorable ruling from the United States Supreme Court, sports betting will quickly become a reality in New Jersey. ##

REPORT: ROBO-TRACTORS NOW CUTTING GRASS ON PARKWAY

If you see a riding lawnmower cutting grass along the Garden State Parkway with no one riding it, your vision remains fine.  NJ.com reports that the New Jersey Turnpike Authority has six unmanned, robotic lawnmowers cutting grass in dangerous areas along the Parkway and Turnpike.  Each one costs over $80,000. ##
