SAURO, CAMPBELL WIN REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLY PRIMARY

Jim Sauro and Robert Campbell are your two republican assembly candidates in our First Legislative District.  Campbell defeated Brian McDowell, who was originally endorsed by local republican parties before a video circulated of McDowell saying unflattering comments to a woman inside a bar.  They will battle Bruce Land and Robert Andrzejczak in the general election. IT’S MURPHY VS. GUADAGNO IN THE RACE FOR GOVERNOR

Democrat Phil Murphy versus republican Kim Guadagno in the race for governor this year in New Jersey.  Both candidates secured their respective party nominations during primary elections Tuesday evening.  Murphy held off five rivals in the battle for the democratic nomination. ##

HURRICANE EXERCISE TO BE HELD LOCALLY ON THURSDAY

A hurricane exercise event will be held Thursday in Cape May County.  The New Jersey Department of Transportation says there will be no road closures during Thursday’s drill, but there will be an increased presence by police and officials along the Garden State Parkway, Atlantic City Expressway, and Route 47 locally. ##

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY RESTORE OPENING SET FOR SATURDAY

Cape May County’s Habitat for Humanity ReStore is having a grand opening event in Cape May Court House on Saturday.  The store will open to shoppers for the first time, next to Big Lots and down the sidewalk from TJ Maxx.  Proceeds help fund housing projects for those in need. ##
