ATLANTIC COUNTY NOW TREATING DISAPPEARANCE AS HOMICIDE

Atlantic County authorities are now treating the disappearance of a man who’s remains were found as a homicide.  Authorities say they are looking for the killer of Barry S. Brown of Egg Harbor Township who disappeared four years ago; Brown’s remains were found in January in a lot next to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority. [...]

SPORTS: MIDDLE GIRLS TO PLAY FOR STATE LACROSSE TITLE SATURDAY

The Middle Township girls’ lacrosse team will play for the State Group I championship on Saturday.  Middle defeated Mount St. Mary in a state semifinal game this week, and will next play Oak Knoll for the state title at Kean University.  Oak Knoll is the two time defending New Jersey Group I champions. ##

BOAT IN DISTRESS OFF CAPE MAY, CRUISE LINE ASSISTS

A Norwegian cruise ship noticed a 50 foot sailing vessel was in distress 110 miles east of Cape May, and called the Coast Guard for help.  The Coast Guard responded and was able to safely tow the “Ibis” safely to Cape May Harbor Tuesday morning; there were no injuries. ##

COUNTY OEM HOLDS EMERGENCY CONFERENCE, DISCUSSES THREATS

The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management held its annual emergency preparedness conference Wednesday morning at Crest Haven.  County OEM Director Martin Pagliughi hosted the conference which touched on power restoration, hurricane forecasting, care of pets, and drone technology. ##
