CAPE MAY DEVELOPS TWO “MEET SPOTS” TO COMPLETE ONLINE SALES

The Cape May Police Department has established two safety zones for which online transactions can be completed.  Police Chief Anthony Marino told us that the two meeting spots are monitored via camera 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of online transactions. ##

ABSEGAMI HIRES KENNY JOHNSON AS BOYS BASKETBALL COACH

A Cape Atlantic League boys basketball team has a new head coach.  Kenny Johnson, the former coach at Pleasantville, has taken the reigns of the program at Absegami High School.  Johnson replaces Greg Goodwin who finished his third term as boys basketball coach. ##

FLOUNDER SEASON OPENS THURSDAY AT JERSEY SHORE

The flounder season begins Thursday at the Jersey Shore.  A limit of three, 18-inch fish per day is allowed Thursday through September 5th in coastal waters.  The black sea bass season begins Friday and runs through June 18th. ##

REPORT: LONGTIME OWNER OF SPRINGER’S ICE CREAM KILLED IN ACCIDENT

The longtime owner of Springer’s Ice Cream in Stone Harbor was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Pennsylvania.  NJ.com reports that 82 year old Barbara Humphreys lost her life in the driveway of her daughter’s home in Wayne, PA.  Her husband Neil was hospitalized as a result of the accident. ##
