STONE HARBOR TO RECEIVE ACE PRESENTATION, AUTHORIZE CHAMBER LEASE

Stone Harbor’s council will meet Tuesday afternoon and is expected to receive a presentation from Atlantic City Electric.  Some residents in the town have vehemently opposed the installation of larger electrical transmission poles in the community.  Council will also consider a resolution authorizing a new five year lease for the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce. HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS ALONG CAPE BEACHES SATURDAY

There is a high risk for rip currents along local beaches throughout the day on Saturday.  The National Weather Service predicts waves building to four to five feet by this afternoon, which means the ocean will be treacherous for simmers.  Obey all instructions provided by your local beach patrol. ##

NO DELAY IN MENENDEZ TRIAL FOR SENATE VOTES

There will be no delay in the corruption trial involving New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez, even for key voting sessions in Washington.  A judge tossed out Menendez’s request to have the trial stalled so he could head to Washington for important votes.  Menendez’ trial is expected to begin September 6th. ##

STATE TROOPER HITS UTILITY POLE IN BUENA

A New Jersey State Trooper drove his car off a road and struck a utility pole Thursday night in Buena.  Officials say the trooper was driving a marked patrol car when he ran off Wheat Road and hit the pole; he was not injured.  The crash is under investigation. ##
