Ocean City has a new field hockey coach.  The Gazette Leader’s Brian Cunniff reports that Kelsey Mitchell is taking over the successful Red Raider program that has produced ten state Group III championships. ##

PUBLIC MEETING TO BE HELD ON CAPE MAY BIKE, PEDESTRIAN PLAN

A public meeting will be held next week to discuss a bike and pedestrian plan that involves Cape May and Cape May Point.  The New Jersey Department of Transportation will hold the meeting on June 3rd at the Cape May City Hall Auditorium. ##

MILLVILLE POLICE CAR GOES UP IN FLAMES WEDNESDAY NIGHT

A police cruiser went up in flames during an assignment in Millville Monday night.  Police told the Daily Journal that no one was injured in the fire which started near Pine and North 5th Streets.  The cause of the fire is likely mechanical in nature. ##

COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY POSTED FOR THURSDAY EVENING

The National Weather Service has again issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Jersey Cape for this evening’s high tide event.  Minor coastal flooding may occur during this evening’s high tide, which will occur around 8:30pm.  There is a chance for spotty minor tidal flooding in shore communities this morning. ##
