WEDNESDAY POWERBALL DRAWING WORTH OVER $700 MILLION

Time is running out to get your Powerball lottery tickets.  New Jersey Lottery officials say the jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing has surpassed $700 million, with a cash prize approaching a half billion dollars.  It’s the second largest Powerball jackpot in history. ##

SOUTH JERSEY MAN AMONG SAILORS KILLED IN MALAYSIA

A 22 year old sailor from Cherry Hill is among the men who are missing following a collision between a United States Navy destroyer and an oil tanker near Malaysia.  Authorities say Kenneth Smith is one of the ten sailors missing and presumed dead. ##

JURY SELECTION BEGINS IN MENENDEZ CORRUPTION TRIAL

Jury selection begins in a federal courtroom today for the upcoming corruption and bribery trial involving New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez.  Menendez is accused of accepting lavish gifts from a Florida doctor in return for political favors.  The trial could begin this fall. ##

NJ GETTING OVER $55 MILLION IN RELIEF FOR HURRICANE SANDY

Congressman Frank Pallone says New Jersey is getting $55.4 million to clean up sand and debris from Hurricane Sandy.  Pallone says the money will be spent to remove debris and sand from navigable waterways throughout the Garden State. ##
