BEACH FILL PROJECT TO ARRIVE IN OCEAN CITY THIS FALL

A beach fill project is coming to Ocean City, likely in the fall.  The United States Army Corps of Engineers announced that the city will receive a beach fill totaling about 550,000 cubic yards of sand and will extend from Seaview Road to 13th Street. ##

HOME RUN! MATT SZCZUR SLUGS FIRST HOMER FOR THE PADRES

Lower Cape May Regional High School native Matt Szczur has his first home run as a member of the San Diego Padres.  Szczur collected the home run against the Chicago White Sox Friday night.  The Padres won the game, 6-3; Szczur is batting .281 this season. ##

NJ POLL: TAXPAYERS DO NOT SUPPORT ASPECTS OF TRUMP PLAN

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows over 50 percent of New Jersey voters do not like certain parts of President Trump’s new tax plan.  The plan calls for the elimination of the federal deduction for state and local taxes.  New Jersey residents pay the highest effective property tax rate in the nation. ##

SEA ISLE MAY CHANGE OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT HOURS

Sea Isle City may adjust the hours for outdoor entertainment at bars and restaurants.  City Council will hold a meeting next Saturday and could amend the ordinance that currently restricts the entertainment from extending past 9:00pm weekdays, and past 10:00pm on weekends. ##
