AVALON COUNCIL DISCUSSES LIQUOR SERVICE HOURS

The Avalon Borough Council discussed adjusting the hours for which alcoholic beverages can be sold in the community.  Council is considering changing the proposed start of liquor sales on Sundays from 11:00am until either 10:00am, or 9:00am.  Council will consider the first reading of an ordinance addressing the issue next month. ##

ATLANTIC CITY COUNCIL BACKS OFF PLAN TO PRIVATIZE TRASH

YOU ARE WARNED: SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT COMING TO ROUTES 55/47

Consider this your warning.  New Jersey State Police plan to set up a sobriety checkpoint at the intersection of Routes 55 and 47 in Maurice River Township on Friday.  Police won’t say what time the checkpoint will be set up, but motorists are warned in advance that it’s coming. ##

CAMDEN MAN ACCUSED OF SHOPLIFTING AT HAMILTON MALL SEARS STORE

A 48 year old Camden man has been charged by local police for shoplifting merchandise at the Sears department store located at the Hamilton Mall.  Police allege Terrance Thomas was accused of shoplifting and for the fraudulent use of credit cards. ##
