WOODBINE GETTING NJDEP FUNDING FOR REMEDIATION AT LOCAL AIRPORT

Woodbine has secured nearly $130,000 in state funding for a site remedial investigation at the Woodbine Municipal Airport.  Mayor William Pikolycky announced that historical military and commercial uses created areas of concern to be investigated in the proposed studies. ##

SIX COUNTY SOROPTIMIST MEMBERS ACHIEVE SPECIAL AWARDS

Six local women have all been recognized by Soroptimist of Cape May County for their individual achievements in the organization.  The six women were honored during a recent event at the Two Mile Landing.  Those recognized were Annika Marks, Allanah Moulton, Lois Harris, Emma Lord, Hibba Ahmed, and Hennessey Barry. ##

SPORTS: VARIOUS PLAYOFF GAMES POSTPONED MONDAY DUE TO RAIN

Various high school sports playoff games have been postponed from Monday until Tuesday due to rain.  Playoff games involving Middle Township softball, girls lacrosse, and baseball have all been cancelled for Monday along with playoff baseball games involving teams from Wildwood, Ocean City, and Lower Cape May. ##

NO CRIMINAL CHARGES IN POWERBOAT RACE ACCIDENT

No criminal charges will be filed in connection with a fatal boat race accident near Point Pleasant Sunday afternoon.  Police say they want to speak with a survivor of the accident that killed veteran power boat racer David Raabe of Forked River. ##
