OCEAN CITY’S 34TH STREET BRIDGE TO BE FINISHED MAY 4TH

The project to repair the 34th Street Bridge in Ocean City will be wrapped up by May 4th.  Mayor Jay Gillian announced that this phase of the work will be completed by that date.  Gillian also announced that the new firehouse at 29th Street is nearly finished as well. ##

CHRISTIE WANTS STRAUB TO GET CASINO LICENSE, OR SELL “TEN”

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is calling for “Ten” owner Glen Straub to get a casino license or sell the former Revel casino property in Atlantic City.  Christie says Straub simply does not want to go through the process of obtaining a casino license. ##

REPORT: PINELANDS HIGH HAS LAYOFFS, INCLUDING FOOTBALL COACH

Pinelands Regional High School has conducted some layoffs at the school, including that of popular high school football coach Brian Wilkinson.  Wilkinson’s teaching job as well as jobs belonging to three assistants were all eliminated from the school due to budget cuts. ##

TWO CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING IN VINELAND

Two people were charged with kidnapping in Vineland after the victim alerted a store clerk she was being held against her will.  31 year old Juan Reyes and 22 year old Talisa colon removed a woman from her car, and took her to a Wawa to take money out of an ATM.  Police moved in [...]
