UPDATE: JUDGE MENDEZ BLOCKS MARGATE DUNE PROJECT, FOR NOW

Superior Court Judge Julio Mendez has blocked further construction of Margate’s dune project, for now. Margate obtained an injunction in the project due to severe ponding of water next to million dollar beachfront homes. The state and federal governments have one week to figure out a solution. ##

REPORT: FORMER WILDWOOD FOOTBALL STAR NOT PLAYING FOR DELAWARE THIS SEASON

Former Wildwood High School football star Wesley Hills has been declared academically ineligible and will not be playing for the University of Delaware this season. The Gazette Leader’s Brian Cunniff reports that Hills and one other player will not suit up; Hills was entering his redshirt senior year at Delaware. ##

SPORTS: SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR MIDDLE TWP. FOOTBALL

There has been a schedule change for the Middle Township football team, which kicks off its schedule next month. The Gazette Leader’s Brian Cunniff reports that the Panthers will open the schedule Labor Day weekend at home vs. Steinert, which replaces Pitman on the schedule; Pitman is not fielding a team this year. ##
