REPORT: NO FARMERS’ MARKETS IN UPPER TOWNSHIP THIS SUMMER

There will be no farmers markets in Upper Township this year.  The Upper Township Gazette reports that the markets will not be held due to a lack of volunteers in the community to assist with these and similar events.  Township Committeeman Hobie Young says the Township is struggling to find volunteers to run these events. FUEL SPILL REPORTED IN THE WATERS NEAR Atlantic City

There was a small fuel spill in the waters near Atlantic City on Monday.  About 20 gallons of fuel spilled into the water at Gardner’s Basin.  A containment boom and some absorbing pads were used to clean it up; no word yet on where the fuel came from. ##

OFFSHORE DRILLING GETTING CLOSER TO REALITY IN GARDEN STATE

President Trump’s plan to permit offshore drilling off the eastern seaboard is inching closer to reality.  His administration is proposing the approval of five requests for seismic testing in the region.  Comments may be delivered by the public for the next month. ##

POPULAR SOUTH JERSEY DINER MAY BE RAZED FOR ANOTHER WAWA

Another popular South Jersey diner may meet the wrecking ball to make room for another Wawa convenience store.  An application will be heard in Brooklawn later this month by Wawa who wants to tear down the Metro Diner located on Route 130 so the company can build another convenience store. ##
