REPORT: ARMED MAN REMOVED FROM MOBILE HOME PARK

A man armed with a knife was safely removed from a mobile home park in Newfiled.  The Daily Journal reports that the man was safely removed from the Lake Acres park by State Police and Vineland Police.  The man was upset and having some issues before he led authorities to the three hour standoff. ##

GROCERY STORE CHAIN APPROVED FOR SITE IN EHT

A Lidl grocery store has been approved for a site in Egg Harbor Township.  The Township’s planning board met Monday night and approved the new store to be located at the site of the Track Hebrew Academy.  Construction will begin early next year. ##

BRIDGETON POLICE INVESTIGATING CAUSE OF HOUSE FIRE

Bridgeton Police are investigating the cause of a house fire over the weekend.  Police responded to a burglar alarm call at a home on Colfax Street; when they arrived, the unoccupied house was up in flames.  No suspects are in custody. ##

REPORT: VENTNOR TO GET NEW POLICE CHIEF MAY 1ST

Venter is getting a new police chief as of May 1st.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that Chief Michael Miller is retiring and Captain Doug Biagi will become the new chief at the beginning of next month. ##
