BIG SCHEDULE CHANGES IN LONGPORT/MARGATE DUNE PROJECT

There are major changes coming to the schedule for a massive dune project in Margate and Longport.  Longport will likely see some work conducted this summer, while Margate may skate this summer and have its work conducted in the fall.  Dredges scheduled to do the work are still in Florida. ##

COAST GUARD SHIP WON’T BE SUNK TUESDAY, ROUGH SEAS

A Coast Guard cutter that was made famous during the movie “The Perfect Storm” will not be sunk off the coast of Cape May as planned on Tuesday.  The “Tamaroa” will be sunk later this week or next due to rough seas.  It’s being intentionally sunk to be used as an artificial reef. ##

REPORT: UPPER TOWNSHIP CHANGES PLANS, TWO BOAT RAMPS TO BE FREE

Upper Township officials have decided to keep two boat ramps in Strathmere free of charge.  The Upper Township Gazette reports that there will be no fees charged at a new boat ramp on Bayview Drive, or at an existing boat ramp at Taylor Avenue.  Officials do not believe there is adequate room to staff attendants. BOMB THREATS IN ATLANTIC CITY, NOTHING FOUND

Atlantic City Police responded to two separate bomb threats on Monday morning.  One threat was against a court house, the other, an apartment complex.  No explosives were found, and one suspect was arrested. ##
