REPORT: LOCAL HOOPS STAR TO PLAY COLLEGE BALL IN PHILADELPHIA

Mackenzie McCracken will be playing college basketball at Philadelphia’s Holy Family University.  Brian Cunniff of the Gazette Leader reports that McCracken has made the choice to play at the Division II school following an outstanding career at Wildwood High.  Last year McCracken lead all of South Jersey in scoring at 25.1 points per game. ##

LOWER TOWNSHIP MOVING TOWARDS REGULATING VACANT PROPERTIES

The Lower Township Council is pushing forward with plans to regulate vacant properties.  Council met last week and introduced an ordinance that would force these property owners to register with the Township and pay a $500 fee to do so. ##

ATLANTIC COUNTY BOY TRIES TO ASSEMBLY SEMI AUTOMATIC RIFLE

A 16 year old boy from Galloway Township attempted to build his own assault rifle.  Authorities in the Township say the boy was arrested last week after he was caught having all of the parts to build an AR 15 assault rifle.  Police did not find ammo for the weapon. ##

FINALLY OVER: MARGATE RESIDENTS STOP FIGHT AGAINST DUNES

The final group of Margate residents who were steadfast in fighting a plan to install dunes in the community has thrown in the towel.  They have abandoned their fight against the dune plan even though they say the dunes will compromise the views from their homes. ##
