“TAMAROA” TO BE SUNK AS ARTIFICIAL REEF ON WEDNESDAY

Coast Guard cutter ‘Tamaroa” will be sunk this Wednesday and become part of the artificial reef system near the Jersey Shore.  The ship is now scheduled to be sunk after serving in World War II and becoming popular as part of the rescue in the movie “Perfect Storm”. ##

REPORT: GASKILL PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO SEX ASSAULT CHARGES

A 37 year old man who works in the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that Sgt. Jay H. Gaskill III of Middle Township pleaded innocent to the charges lodged against him.  A status conference will be held in a month. ##

SPORTS: REARDON QUITS AS ST. AUGUSTINE FOOTBALL COACH

A surprise resignation in the local high school football ranks. Mark Reardon has resigned as the head football coach at St. Augustine High School after he won nine of his ten games last season.  Reardon coached the Hermits for five seasons. ##

VINELAND POLICE: 61 YEAR OLD MAN TOSSED NAILS IN DRIVEWAYS

A 61 year old man who was fired from two businesses has admitted to Vineland Police that he tossed nails into the driveways of both of his former employers.  Peter J. Higginson of Clayton admitted to the crimes and has been charged with criminal mischief. ##
