OCEAN CITY TO RECEIVE THREE PUMP STATIONS TO HELP WITH FLOODING

Ocean City officials announced over the weekend that three pump stations are proposed for the north end of the city to help alleviate flooding issues.  The pump stations will cost nearly $9 million and will be located at Second, Fifth, and Sixth streets along Bay Avenue. ##

OWNER OF POPULAR SOMERS POINT BAR PASSES AWAY

The owner of Charlie’s Bar and Restaurant in Somers Point passed away at his home Saturday morning.  65 year old Jack Thomas of Linwood was the beloved owner of the bar and patrons gathered over the weekend in his memory. ##

SHOE STORE ROBBER IN VINELAND BUSTED

A Vineland man who robbed a city shoe store in May while using a box cutter has been arrested.  City police announced the arrest of 56 year old Rodney J. Gibson who was charged with robbery and other offenses.  He robbed a Payless Shoe Store by pulling out the knife and demanding cash. ##
