POLL: MANY LIKE BOOKER, BUT DON’T WANT HIM AS PRESIDENT

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows 57 percent of New Jersey residents approve of the job performance by Senator Cory Booker, but more than half of the respondents don’t want Booker to run for President.  The poll also gives President Trump a 35 percent approval rating. ##

PISCOPO WON’T RUN FOR GOVERNOR, WILL ENDORSE GUADAGNO

Comedian Joe Piscopo says he will not run for the office of governor this year, and instead will put his support behind republican candidate Kim Guadagno.  Piscopo says he met with Guadagno over the weekend to discuss initiatives that he wants Guadagno to embrace during her campaign. ##

NEW JERSEY TOURISM ASSOCIATION OPPOSES OFFSHORE DRILLING

The New Jersey Tourism Association is lending its voice to the fight against offshore drilling for fuel.  The Association came out today in opposition of the plan being floated by President Trump.  Trump may sign an executive order this week that would lift that ban. ##

STATE TO DISCUSS PLAN TO FIGHT OPIOID EPIDEMIC THURSDAY

New Jersey will outline its plans to fight the opioid epidemic on Thursday.  New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino will head up a panel discussion involving doctors and other state officials on how best to combat the epidemic.  The discussion will be held in Morristown. ##
