LAWMAKERS WANT TO END SPECIAL ELECTIONS IN NEW JERSEY

The New Jersey Senate approved a bill Thursday that would put a stop to special elections to fill congressional vacancies.  The bill calls for these seats to be filled in general elections.  Governor Christie is expected to veto the measure. ##

MORE THAN TWO DOZEN INJURED IN TOUR BUS CRASH

More than two dozen people were injured during a tour bus crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in South Jersey early Friday morning.  Police say the bus and a tractor trailer collided in West Deptford near mile marker 19 of the Turnpike. ##

CHAMPS! MIDDLE TOWNSHIP WINS SOUTH JERSEY LACROSSE TITLE

It’s another South Jersey sports championship for Middle Township High School.  The Lady Panthers lacrosse team knocked off Camden Catholic, 17-8 Thursday evening to win the South Jersey Group I lacrosse title.  It’s the first ever championship for the program. ##

SEA ISLE MAYOR: IT WOULD TAKE SEVEN YEARS TO GET PERMITS FOR BRIDGE
