MIDDLE TOWNSHIP POLICE ISSUE TRAFFIC ADVISORY THURSDAY MORNING

Middle Township Police announced this morning that a section of Route 9 between Stites Avenue and School House Lane is closed to motor vehicle traffic.  A utility pole was struck by a motor vehicle early this morning and needs to be replaced; plan an alternate route. ##

AGAIN, NO WINNER IN POWERBALL, JACKPOT OVER A HALF BILLION

For the 19th consecutive drawing, no winner in the Powerball lottery.  New Jersey Lottery officials say the estimated top prize for Saturday night’s drawing will be over a half billion dollars.  It will be the eighth largest jackpot in our country’s history. ##

MILLVILLE SELLS OFF ITS RESCUE SQUAD

The City of Millville has sold off its rescue squad.  Inspira Health Network bought the squad on Wednesday after receiving support from both the hospital and the city.  Millville officials say this will elevate services provided to city residents. ##

CHRISTIE: NO NATURAL GAS EXPLORATION OFF NJ COAST

Governor Christie has reaffirmed his opposition to any exploration of offshore drilling for fuel off the coast of the Garden State.  Christie says there are too many potential negative impacts for the New Jersey shoreline to support this proposal.  Christie says he’s opposed this measure for the past seven years. ##
