FORMER SENATE PRESIDENT JOHN RUSSO, 84

Former New Jersey Senate President John Russo has died at the age of 84. Russo lost a battle with cancer on Saturday night. He wrote the law that reinstated the death penalty in New Jersey in 1982. ##

MARGATE RESIDENTS PROTEST RESUMPTION OF DUNE WORK

Margate’s long standing issues with a dune and beach project continued Sunday as residents protested the resumption of the work, scheduled to begin again on Tuesday. A federal judge ruled that the project may continue, but any area with more than two inches of standing water must be roped off from the public. ##

NO CONCERT: WILDWOOD CONCERT WITH ASIA “POSTPONED”

Wildwood’s first major beach concert of the season appears to be a no-go. Various ticket outlets including Ticketfly reported over the weekend that a concert featuring Asia, War, and a former lead singer from Journey scheduled for August 19th is “postponed”. No reason has been given for the postponement. ##
