AVALON, CAPE MAY AMONG TOWNS GETTING NJDOT FUNDING

REPORT: HARD ROCK COULD TAKE A HALF BILLION DOLLARS TO OPEN

The new Hard Rock Casino that will open at the former Trump Taj Mahal will take about $500 million in investment.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that the higher figure was announced at a gaming conference at Harrah’s.  Officials thought only $400 million was needed. ##

CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH DWI AFTER HITTING BIKE

Vineland Police have arrested and charged a local man with drunk driving and child endangerment after he struck a man who was riding a bicycle last week.  33 year old Anibal Velasquez Jr. had two young children in his car when he had the accident.  He had consumed alcohol before getting inside his car. ##

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION WANTS SPORTS BETTING DEAD IN NJ

New Jersey’s attempts to legalize sports betting is dead on arrival in Washington, says the Trump administration.  The administration announced Thursday that New Jersey has no legal case to pursue sports betting and the issue should be dropped. ##
