PYGMY SPERM WHALE, YOUNG CALF PUT TO SLEEP AFTER COMING ASHORE

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center announced that a pygmy sperm whale and its young calf were both euthanized on Thursday after coming ashore in Brigantine. Officials with the center say the mother was bloodied and tired, possibly from striking a jetty. These types of whales that come up on the beach often do not survive. [...]

ELECTION BALLOT-GATE NOW ALIVE AND WELL IN ATLANTIC CITY

An investigation has been ordered after a republican councilman from Atlantic City alleges that his sealed, mail in election ballot already had selections checked for three democrats running for office. Philly.com reports that Councilman Jesse Kurtz has complained to the Attorney General’s office regarding the ballot; Mayor Don Guardian has launched an immediate investigation.

TWO WHALES EUTHANIZED AFTER WASHING UP ON BRIGANTINE BEACH

BRIDGETON TO GET $2.5 MILLION GRANT FOR FOOD PRODUCTION PLANT

Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo announced that the Cumberland County Improvement Authority has been awarded a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration for construction of a Food Industry Commercialization Center adjacent to the Rutgers Food Innovation Center in Bridgeton.
