REPORT: OCEAN CITY SEARCHING FOR NEW BASEBALL COACH

Chris Mesinger has resigned as the head coach of the Ocean City High School baseball team after a 32 year career.  Mesinger’s teams won 360 games and two State Group III championships during Mesinger’s tenure, according to Brian Cunniff of the Gazette Leader. ##

DIRECTOR OF NJSIAA TO RETIRE IN JANUARY

The director of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association is calling it quits in January.  Steve Timko has announced that he will retire from the position at the end of the year after a half century involving in high school sports. ##

SEASON ENDS: MIDDLE GIRLS FALL IN STATE LACROSSE TITLE GAME

A fantastic season for the Middle Township girls lacrosse team came to an end on Saturday.  The Lady Panthers dropped the Group I championship game to New Jersey powerhouse Oak Knoll, 17-8.  Middle Township featured some of the best players in South Jersey and captured the South Jersey Group I title. ##

SPORTS: LADY CRUSADERS PLAY FOR STATE TITLE SUNDAY AFTERNOON

The Wildwood Catholic softball team will play for the Non Public B state championship Sunday afternoon at Kean University.  State officials announced that the Lady Crusaders will battle Immaculate Conception of Lodi, the defending state champs, at 2:30pm. ##
