SPORTS: SCUDERI RESIGNS AS MIDDLE TOWNSHIP LACROSSE COACH

A major loss for the local high school sports scene as Jackie Scuderi has resigned her position as girls lacrosse coach at Middle Township High School. Scuderi won three Cape Atlantic League titles and compiled a 101-35 record, according to the Gazette Leader’s Brian Cunniff. Scuderi has taken a position at Seneca High School. ##

REPORT: HICKS QUALIFIES FOR AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Former Middle Township High School golf star David Hicks has qualified for the United States Amateur Golf Championship. The Gazette Leader’s Brian Cunniff reports that Hicks placed second in a qualifier event in Elverson, Pennsylvania. The Championship is being held in California August 10th through the 14th. ##

SPORTS: SEA ISLE WINS BESCHEN CALLHAN EVENT IN NORTH WILDWOOD

A team title for the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol in the annual Beschen Callhan lifeguard race in North Wildwood. The Gazette Leader’s Brian Cunniff reports that Sea Isle won the title on a tiebreaker after an Avalon surf dash team was disqualified for a uniform violation. ##
