ANOTHER MAJOR BEACH PROJECT COMING TO NEW JERSEY

Another major beach renourishment project is coming to New Jersey.  State officials will be in Ortley Beach, Ocean County on Wednesday to usher in a northern Ocean County beach fill project that will cost $128 million.  The project will restore beaches that were stripped by Hurricane Sandy. ##

SHOOTING INVOLVING STATE TROOPER DURING HOLIDAY WEEKEND

There was a shooting involving a New Jersey State Trooper during the holiday weekend.  Police say a 35 year old man was shot in his Jefferson Township home after being wanted for assaulting his girlfriend.  Police say Matthew Gerndt charged aggressive towards a trooper who discharged his weapon. ##

TWO KILLED IN SALEM COUNTY TRAFFIC ACCIDENT OVER WEEKEND

Two people were killed during a head on traffic accident in Salem County Saturday night.  State Police say the accident occurred in Pittsgrove Township along Landis Avenue.  One of the two vehicles caught fire after the accident; one victim is from Bridgeton, while the second, from Vineland. ##

EXTRA STATE TROOPERS WORKING DURING HOLIDAY

Nearly 200 additional New Jersey Troopers are working during the holiday weekend.  Nearly 1 million New Jersey residents will travel at least 50 miles between now and Memorial Day.  Last year, 15 people were killed in traffic accidents during Memorial Day weekend. ##
