SEARS CLOSES ONE STORE IN NJ, OTHER SURVIVE

The parent company of Sears and Kmart is closing 20 additional stores, including a Sears located in Watchung.  All of the remaining Sears stores, including those in our area, are safe for now.  The Sears in Vineland is slated to close in a few months. ##

RAISE THE SMOKING AGE? IT’S NOW THE GOVERNOR’S CALL

Governor Christie will be presented with a legislative bill that would increase the legal age to purchase tobacco products from 19 to 21 years of age.  The State Assembly approved a bill that would raise the minimum age; Christie has before vetoed similar legislation. ##

AUTHORITIES RULE HOMICIDE IN CONNECTION WITH BEATING LAST WEEKEND

Police in Woolwich, Gloucester County say a 47 year old woman who was beaten to death at her pool is the victim of a homicide. Authorities say the body of 47 year old Michelle Long was found at her residence; Long died of blunt force trauma. ##
