NJ UNEMPLOYMENT RATE EDGES UP SLIGHTLY

New Jersey’s unemployment rate edged up to 4.5 percent in August, representing a three tenths of a percentage point increase in one month. New statistics show the state got rid of 700 private sector jobs but added 900 public positions.

CHRISTIE ORDERS FLAGS AT HALF STAFF ON SATURDAY

Governor Christie has ordered all flags fly at half staff on Saturday for a Cherry Hill sailor who lost his life last month when a Navy ship collided with another vessel. Kenneth Smith and nine others were killed in the accident off Singapore.
