CHRISTIE: STATE PARKS COULD CLOSE FOR HOLIDAY WEEKEND

State parks could close just in time for the July 4th weekend due to the budget impasse in Trenton. Governor Christie announced Thursday night that without a budget, it’s possible the parks could shut down unless a new budget is approved by midnight Friday; Christie is blaming democrats for the lack of progress. ##

DEMOCRATS FAIL IN BUDGET VOTE, STATE SHUTDOWN POSSIBLE

Democrats in the New Jersey Assembly have failed on their first attempt to get a budget approved before Friday’s deadline. The budget needed 41 “yes” votes, and received only 24. 35 members of the Assembly didn’t even bother to vote on the democrats’ plan. ##
