TOWNSEND’S INLET BRIDGE TO RE-OPEN FRIDAY AFTERNOON

Townsend’s Inlet Bridge will re-open Friday afternoon. According to a County notice posted on the Borough of Avalon’s website, the bridge will re-open to vehicular traffic sometime Friday afternoon. The bridge has been shut down for many weeks after undermining of the bridge was discovered by the County during a scheduled underwater inspection. ##

FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL READY TO VISIT SEA ISLE CITY THIS WEEKEND

Sea Isle City will host its annual food truck festival this weekend. Nearly 20 food trucks will be involved in the festival that begins Friday and ends Sunday. The event will include some crafters and live music as well. ##

EXTENSION OF OUTDOOR MUSIC BOMBS IN SEA ISLE CITY

A proposal that would have allowed for later outdoor music in Sea Isle City did not get a single vote of support from City Council during this week’s meeting.  This comes on the heels of an earlier vote this spring to shoot down a proposal for longer sidewalk dining hours in the resort. ##

NEW JITNEY BILL MAY REQUIRE REGISTRATION IN COMMUNITIES

A new bill has been approved by the State Assembly that would require the owners of Jitney buses to register in each town for which they operate.  Some towns including Avalon require Jitney bus drivers to pass background checks and register with the Borough, while some other municipalities where Jitneys operate do not. ##
